The Davis Academy of Irish Dancing, under the direction of Fedelmia Mullan Davis, has been training Irish dancers for the past 43 years in New Jersey. From the beginning, it has established itself world wide as a respected force in the promotion of traditional Irish dancing in North America.
The Davis Academy offers a dynamic and challenging learning environment with performance and competition opportunities from beginners to championship levels. Whether a dancer is interested in dancing for the cultural aspects of the dance, or to compete on the world stage, we emphasize teamwork and working hard while having fun. This philosophy has propelled our academy to be one of the most competitive and successful schools in the area, resulting in many students becoming champions in the Local, Regional, North American and World Irish Dance competitions, both solo and team competitions.
Although there is an emphasis on competition, many children dance for the culture, exercise and love of their art form. We divide all our classes, placing each child in the class which is best suited for him or her. Our prime focus is that all children should be afforded the same opportunity to learn and improve regardless of their level of ability. The students in the Academy are given the individual attention they need to reach their potential. Like all other sports and activities, not all make it to the top - but we believe that each child should be given the chance to be the best they can be!
